Accessibility statement
Last updated: 1 October 2026
Ponyhof wants everyone to be able to use this website – with a screen reader, with the keyboard only, zoomed in, or when motion on screen is hard for you.
How accessible is this website?
This website largely meets the requirements of WCAG 2.1 level AA (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines, implemented in the EU as the standard EN 301 549). The exceptions are listed below.
What the website does
- Everything can be operated with the keyboard; where you are is clearly highlighted.
- Headings, landmarks and a “Skip to content” link help you navigate with a screen reader.
- Text and controls have enough contrast against the background.
- The page can be zoomed in a lot and works on narrow screens without scrolling sideways.
- The “Accessibility” tab on the right edge of the screen (in the menu on phones) lets you adjust the display: larger text, high contrast, a simpler font for headings, and pausing motion. Your browser remembers your choice.
- If “Reduce motion” is switched on in your device settings, everything stands still on its own. Nothing flashes quickly.
- Music never starts on its own – only when you press play.
- The homepage is available in German and English; passages in the other language are marked as such.
What is not yet accessible
- Instagram posts: the image descriptions come from the captions on Instagram and don’t always describe the picture. Videos are hosted on Instagram – whether they have subtitles depends on the post.
- SoundCloud: the sets come from the SoundCloud service. Our own controls (play, skip, position, volume) work with the keyboard; the SoundCloud player itself is out of our hands.
- The scratchable record can only be spun with a mouse or finger. It’s a fun extra – the music can be fully controlled without it.
- The imprint, privacy policy and photo vote are only available in German.
How this statement was prepared
This statement is based on a self-assessment from 1 October 2026: an automated check with the axe-core tool against WCAG 2.2 AA (no violations) and manual checks – contrast, keyboard, structure, language, zoom and motion. A test with screen readers will follow. We review this statement whenever something significant changes on the website.
